Bad Girl In Chief : Katie Lowdon Biog

Katie started out her Tattoo career as an apprentice in a small studio in 2000. Previous to this she had always been into the Art scene and actually wanted to become a fashion designer or a potter at college -slightly different avenues to say the least!!!! In between leaving college and finding Tattooing, Katie travelled a bit, partied a bit, had a child, moved around a lot, but never left her love of art behind. Eventually, once she decided to merge her love of art with her love of tattoos, she set out on the long hard path into the world of tattoo, and got an apprenticeship. Once tattooing had entered Katies life (or should that be the other way round??) she knew that she had found her vocation in life. She worked and studied hard, and eventually felt confident enough to go it alone. She approached The Prince's Trust for a loan, and cutting a long story short, Bad Girl Ink was born in 2004. Katie has now been trading successfully for 3 years and slowly but surely has built up a large and varied clientelle. Katie is passionate about all aspects of art and tattooing, but especially loves doing realistic work, black & grey work and colour shade. In 2006 she had a baby, and although it has definitely been a challenge to juggle motherhood with being a tattooer and a business woman, she couldn't think of anything else she would rather be doing!!
